What This Is

Not necessarily a traditional blog post, but this also seemed like the best place to put this. There's a Tumblr blog (@plural-questioning), that posts loads of questions for plurals to answer. That sounded super fun, so here we are! We'll be answering them in order on this page, and will update it every now and then when we feel like it.

Question #01 - Do you have a system name? And if so, what is it and how did you choose it?

Yup! It's the title of this website: Abyssal Elysium. It's a combination of words that makes sense to us, for one; Elysium is essentially the Ancient Greek equivalent of heaven, yet it still exists within the realm of Hades, the underworld. An abyss. Those of you with oceanic knowledge may be thinking, "'Abyssal' refers to an oceanic depth, not a literal abyss!". You're right! That plays into the second reason we chose this name: our headspace. There are two realms: the overworld, which we refer to as "Elysium" (slightly inaccurate, but you know), and the underworld, which we refer to as the "Abyss". The bridge between these two realms is the sea, thus making "abyssal" an accurate descriptor! Both realms exist at extreme depth relative to the other. Slightly confusing, but you get the point. Hopefully. The third reason for the name is our faith; we worship the ancient Greek pantheon, and our belief includes Elysium.

Question #02 - Do you all listen to the same kind of music? What kind? Do you make playlists for different headmates?

Generally, yes, but our music taste is decently diverse. Our favorite genre is definitely goth/post punk, but our favorite artists exist outside of that genre (Hozier, Florence + The Machine, and The Amazing Devil). We'll listen to just about everything, excluding pop country (we do enjoy country in general, however). Playlists for different members is something a few members of the DID system (Vampyr Horde, entirely separate from us) have, since their genre preferences tend to be a bit more prevalent.

Question #03 - Do you think your system gets along in general? Does it vary a lot between members?

Definitely! Even persecutors tend to get along with other members. I view how well we all get along as an extension of our well-blended identity (something we aren't always fond of) and our general self-love.
